We visited The Trellis Bar & Grill while in Williamsburg and it made for a delicious dinner. Located right in the heart of colonial Wiliamsburg, it's a great spot for all-American favorites with a full bar. When we arrived around 8PM, there was about a 45-minute wait on a Saturday. We decided to have a drink at the bar until a table opened up, which the hostess let us know once it did. The restaurant was busy and lively when we visited. I ordered the burger, which was everything I needed! I was starving, especially after site-seeing all day, so it definitely curbed my appetite. The burger was comprised of a half-pound patty, with melted cheese, bacon and all the fixin's. The fries were perfectly crunchy and were salty enough. Glad to have found The Trellis Bar & Grill while exploring Virginia.

Came here on Monday and it wasn't bad. Menus look like they've seen better days but the decor is nice. Apparently they only use part of the restaurant for lunch which is weird but whatever. My husband and I got the fried chicken and biscuit with cokes (which came in a can). The sandwich itself wasn't bad. It was almost a little too sweet personally but it was still good. I probably wouldn't order it again but the fries that came with it were super yummy though! Overall it's not a bad place for the price but I think I would rather go somewhere else for lunch.

Pretty restaurant. Seemed like they had lots of rooms and seating. Friendly staff and attentive service. They serve Boylan's bottled soda and had a good selection of alcoholic drinks. I ordered the Fried Chicken and Biscuit with fries. Overall it was good, but the dark meat chicken was a little tough at times to cut into. And I would order extra honey on the side to add on to your sandwich. It's definitely a fork and knife meal as the homemade biscuit crumbles and it just a massive sandwich to begin with. Fries were pretty good too. My friends enjoyed their Butter Chicken pot pies which wasn't overpowering on the Indian flavor and paired well with the puff pastry crust on top. For dessert, I got the Bread Pudding. I've had better but it was food. It melted in your mouth and had chocolate and fresh berries on the plate to eat it with. It's not a huge serving but enough for one person.

Made reservation for dinner here and it's a big place. We were seated in the front so we can watch the going ones in the square. Drinks: Sangrias - has a good taste but they served it i with a full glass of ice so it watered down quickly House Pinot noir Appetizer: john's island Carolina stew - it's a heavy soup and we ordered a small and it was a big hearty soup with Roasted Turkey, Shrimp, Mussels, navy bean, rice. Entrees: Chicken pot pie Fish taco Southern fried chicken and Krystal's biscuit Shrimp and grits All the food was good and nice portions Dessert: death by chocolate, we were so full so we ordered it to go since it was a must try - A SEVEN LAYER CHOCOLATE TORTE WITH HAND-ROLLED WHITE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE, CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM AND DARK CHOCOLATE SAUCE

While visiting Colonial Williamsburg, we decided to dine at a one of the nearby restaurants. We chose the Trellis Bar & Grill which is part of the Colonial Williamsburg Merchants Square. It's located between Colonial Williamsburg and William and Mary College. We had reservations and were seated immediately. The menu had a nice selection of dining choices. I ordered the braised pork shank with pork belly cassoulet and southern greens; my wife had "The Burger" sans the bun; it was topped with American and Swiss cheese, bacon. lettuce, tomato and red onion. We both enjoyed our dinners very much. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. If you're visiting Colonial Williamsburg and are looking for a nice dinner spot, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Trellis Bar & Grill. You'll have a very nice meal in a relaxed setting.

The sun was beating down on us and you could the humidity with a knife ... We walked in and it was an oasis. The flooring is awesome ... looks like a riverbed running through the restaurant. We had caprese salads ... spring greens, early tomatoes, fresh basil, generous portion of mozzarella, and balsamic dressing. We ordered cups of the vegetable barley soup with a tomato base. We were very satisfied with portion size and freshness of ingredients. You make think this is weird ... check out the silverware ... unusual shapes and definitely heavier than "normal" silverware. Highly recommend.
